good morning sunshine

most mornings i'm jumping out of bed and into the shower to get to work but on my days off, i like to take my time.
usually i won't set an alarm. but i'm still up by 7 most mornings.
we have hard wood floors throughout our apartment so the first thing i do is slip my feet into my Target slippers sitting beside my bed. i'll grab my ugg robe from the hook in my closet and turn on the coffee maker.
coffee is always first...

kaiya, my puppy tends to plop out of bed behind me so i'll give her some attention, freshen her water and then i'll sip my coffee while she has breakfast. occasionally, i'll spend some time writing or doodling if i'm feeling inspired or creative.

this is when i start to light some candles, turn on my oil diffuser and scroll through some guided mediations.
once i decide on a meditation, i rinse my coffee mug, brush my teeth, wash my face, add some eye cream and head into my den.
i have a light for winter, which helps with seasonal depression. i like to set it up while i meditate which is usually about 10-15 minutes.

kaiya and i go for her first walk of the day, just a quick one around our block and she tends to cuddle back up into her bed on the floor as soon as we get home - we're both more keen on summer weather.
Alexa plays Bossonova or country music while i clean up a bit, sweeping the floors, putting away any dishes, and wiping down the surfaces of my kitchen and counters.
i like to workout on my days off, so i'll either head to the gym, go for a run, or a fitness studio before i eat anything.
nothing better than a shower post workout...
and since i have time today, a good calming face mask while i go read or go through emails.
